rpa rEDEVELOPMENT
In 2019, the NSW Government committed $750 million to the redevelopment of the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital to deliver a new hospital building and refurbishment of existing spaces. In 2023, the project was allocated an additional $190 million in the NSW Government 23-24 State Budget.
The now $940 million investment for the RPA Hospital Redevelopment is the biggest transformation in its 140-year history and will deliver an enhanced and expanded Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit including neonatal care, as well as improved medical imaging services, operating theatres and adult inpatient accommodation. The additional investment will ensure the redevelopment will provide improved public spaces and services including roads, wayfinding, landscaping and information and communications
technology
infrastructure.
The project is now in the delivery phase, with main works construction commencing in early 2024. To find out more about the construction currently on campus view our
