Main works commences on the RPA Redevelopment
The $940 million RPA Hospital Redevelopment is moving forward with CPB Contractors appointed as the main works contractor.
The redevelopment will enhance services and facilities and provide the community with access to exceptional, cutting-edge health services.
The hospital will be a centre of excellence and innovation, attracting skilled and experienced clinicians to work in outstanding facilities, and boost health outcomes for patients.
Construction for the RPA Hospital Redevelopment has already begun and is expected to be completed by late 2028. The project will deliver:
  • Expanded and enhanced Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units
  • State-of-the-art operating theatres
  • Expanded and improved adult and paediatric inpatient ward accommodation
  • Increased interventional and imaging services
  • Expanded neonatal intensive care services
  • Improved roads, signage and landscaping throughout the hospital
  • New northern arrival and new open garden courtyard.
The RPA Hospital Redevelopment will create around 1700 direct jobs, with the potential to support thousands of indirect jobs over the life of the project, providing a boost to the local economy.
The NSW Government investment will deliver the biggest transformation of RPA Hospital in its 140-year history, and will provide inner-Sydney communities, as well as people from across NSW, access an extensive range of world-class health services well into the future.
